Cards for Twins

I made these two cards for twins who turned 13 a few weeks back. For the card for Grace I used papers by Hot Off the Press. The stamp is by Sugar Nellie which I coloured with Twinkling H2Os. It's the first time I've used this stamp but I think it's perfect for this age range.

I tried to make Jake's card in the same sort of design to Grace's. These papers are by K&Co and didn't have the little tags so it didn't quite work out the same. The image is a Woodware stamp again coloured with Twinkling H2Os.

1st Birthday Card

I made this card for one of the babies I look after at work. It was his first birthday last week. The papers are by Dovecraft (I think). The sentiment is all done with Die Cuts by Go Kreate which I used in my Cuttlebug.

Happy Birthday Josh and Happy Father's Day

Today is my son's 12th Birthday. Doesn't time fly? I can't believe he'll be a teenager next year... Ooooh scary thought.

This is the card I made for him. I used some green metallic card that Josh bought me for my birthday last year, plus papers from a set by Hot Off the Press. The image is from a set of Forever Friends papers. The Happy Birthday and Josh are made using Go Kreate dies in my Cuttlebug. I added a couple of small buttons just to finish off.

Josh opened his DSi before his birthday - long story but he got lots of great games for it for his birthday. I'm sure we won't be able to drag him away from it today.

Of course it's also Father's Day today. This card I made for my dad who's away on his holidays right now. Hope he's having a good time.

Manchester United Card

I was asked to make a card for a 7 year old called Jack who likes football. The trouble with football cards is that you need to know which team they support because if you use the wrong colours that's not good! Anyway I found out that Jack is a Man U fan so a black, white and red theme it was!



I used a set of stamps that my mum gave me a while ago and this is the first time I've used them. They are by a company called onefourzero and are a really good set of stamps if you are into football. The scarf is just plain and I stamped "United" onto it. The T-shirt I stamped onto red card and then stamped a 7 onto it. The shorts I stamped onto white card and then added the red stripes with a Marvey Le Plume pen. The football and the boot at the bottom are also part of the stamp set. The Happy 7th Birthday are all Go Kreate Dies which I used in my Cuttlebug and the ovals were done using Nestabilities in the same machine. The Jack was done using a Quickutz alphabet also in the Cuttlebug.

For the inside I used a Happy Birthday stamp by Papermania and the football borders are from the onefourzero set.

Just a little proud mummy moment to finish off with. My daughter's class have been reading the script for their Christmas Nativity to see who is going to have which part this year. As they are the eldest infant class they all get parts on the stage but they all get to read through the script like at a play reading so the teachers can get a feel for who would be best to do what.

The show is called "Whoops-a-Daisy Angel" and is about a little Angel who is always late and untidy and never gets very special jobs to do like the other Angels. Anyway she ends up getting a very important job to go and tell the shepherds that a special baby has been born and for once she does the job well and she gets three cheers at the end.

Ellie came out of school on Tuesday and told me she has been given the part of Whoops-a-Daisy Angel. She's been given a script so that we can help her practise her lines at home. It is such a cute story. We're so proud of her. I can't wait to see it now!!

Ellie's Card For Josh

Although I cut out the decoupage image and made it up for Ellie to use, she made the rest of the card herself. She even used my Cuttlebug and Nesties! Didn't she do a fabulous job on his card and she's only 6!

Happy Birthday Josh (for yesterday)

I hate doing decoupage - I love the end result but it drives me insane doing all the intricate cutting out to get it to the finished stage. So this just goes to show how much I love my son Josh. I was wondering how I was going to top or at least match the Tardis card I made him last year when I came across a website that had Scooby Doo decoupage papers. Josh loves Scooby Doo so I bought a sheet that had Scooby Doo in a Monster Truck and Scooby in an aeroplane. I gave Ellie first choice as to which one she wanted to put on her card and she picked the plane.

I used papers by K&Co for Josh's card. I do love the quality of K&Co stuff, I love the colour combinations and the designs of the papers too, especially the ones in this set. They are lovely to work with.

The "Happy 11th Birthday" was done using Go Kreate Dies in my Cuttlebug. The "Josh" at the bottom was done using my Cricut and the Tear Drop cartridge on the "Dropless" feature.

It did pay off in the end though because Josh loved his card and spent ages examining all the layers! :-)

I also made Josh a card from Max (our puppy dog) for this card I used my Woodware Stamps for the boy on the beanbag and the dog. For the background I used some Scooby Doo paper. The Happy Birthday stamp is by Hobby Arts and the 11 in the centre I cut out using Go Create Dies in the Cuttlebug. New Challenge

We have a new weekly challenge over on Quirky Crafts. This weeks challenge is "One For The Boys" I've made two cards as examples for this challenge. The first one is for our friends Tommy and Marissa who had a baby boy three weeks ago. They have called him William Thomas and I had a little cuddle with him on Saturday when they came over. He's adorable!


I thought I'd use some of my Forever Friends baby papers as they are just adorable and used some Forever Friends stickers as embellishments to both the inside and outside of the card. The wording I did using my Quickutz alphabet but I used my Cuttlebug to cut them as it's so much easier to use and more hand friendly than the Quickutz. :-) Papers: Forever Friends ~ Bazzill Basics

The second card is for one of Ellie's class mates. She has been invited to his birthday party on Saturday and originally said yes but has now changed her mind and decided she doesn't want to go after all. So we'll see.


This is one of my favourite Whipper Snapper stamps and is lovely to use on cards for younger boys.

I stamped the Triceratops image out three times, coloured each one and then decoupaged the layers using foam pads to give it some dimension. Stamp: Whipper Snapper

Birthday Card For Luke

Ellie was invited to her friend Luke's birthday party this afternoon. I challenged myself to make a card with "white space" These days I tend to start all my cards by putting a square of patterned on it, so I thought I'd see if I could make one without. I have now finished all Ellie's invites, well the outside anyway. I am hoping to do all the insides today.

The card below I made for one of the Sugar Nellie blog challenges which was "Blue and Green." However with my computer being out of action I didn't get to post it in time and it's gone now. Never mind. That's life! :-) But what would you know? The new Colour Create Challenge is..... Blue and Green!!!! Hooray. So I can enter it for that one instead.

You can't see it very well on the photo but the green paper behind the image has been embossed with "Script" and the green piece with the ribbon on has been embossed with "Argyle". The oval behind the image I coloured with green and blue chalk as the white background stuck out like a sore thumb. The chalks helped to soften it and made it blend in with the colours of the card.

Ellie has invited three boys to her party this year, this is a big thing as Ellie has never invited boys before. I decided rather than make fairy cards for the boys I'd use one of my Sugar Nellie stamps instead.

Charisma Cardz Challenge

In my last post, I commented that I still needed to make a "Big Brother" card for my friend's little boy who is in Ellie's class at school. How's this for a coincidence - the Charisma Cardz Challenge this week is.....

..."Something for the guys!"

How perfect?! So here is my "Big Brother" card for the Charisma Cardz Challenge.
It is still very soft colours for a boys card but because the card is for a little boy who has just got a baby sister I didn't want it to be bold and typical guys colours, I wanted to keep the baby element in and use the softer, more pastel shade colours.

Birthday Cards For Twins

These are two cards I made for twins who turned 11 yesterday. I like to make their cards the same but different, if you know what I mean. This is made easier as one is a girl and one is a boy.
For Jake's card I used my Cricut to make a Happy Birthday aperture in a sheet of double sided patterned paper. I used one of my Woodware stamps of the boy on the beanbag and did some paper piecing to make the colours match. I stuck some buttons over the circles on the patterned paper to add a bit of dimension. For Grace's card, I used my Cricut again to make the Happy Birthday aperture card. I added a little girl image by Sugar Nellie and some Prima flowers to add dimension.

I did mean to put their names on too but unfortunately I ran out of time and had to post them without. Never mind, maybe next year I'll be more organised.

Cuttlebug Challenge Blog

These are two cards I made for the new Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. Their first challenge is to use 3 embossing folders on your project. I started by doing the Christmas Card but it just wasn't cute so I decided I would make the dinosaur card as well just to get my cute fix in! :-) For this card I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the blue card stock. Then I used the zigzag stitching embossing folder on the matted and layered card stock and for the third embossing folder I used The circle one from the Happy Birthday set. I used blue chalk to make it stand out a bit. The stamp is by Whipper Snapper.

For the Christmas card I actually used four embossing folders but who's counting??? I used a border from the Just My Type set on the edges of the green card stock. The white card is embossed with the Snowflake folder. The green scalloped circle is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and the snowflake is cut and embossed with the Ice Crystal set.

Josh's Birthday Cards

Ellie was supposed to be making a card for Josh for his birthday but at the last minute changed her mind and asked me to make one for him. So this was a quick card that I whipped up for him. The papers, ladybird, letters and numbers are all from pack by Hot Off The Press. The "Josh" was done on my Cricut.

And then I remembered that I hadn't made him a card from Max. I quickly made this one for him. You can tell I made it in a rush as the sticky ribbon isn't straight! Doh!

The stamp is by Whipper Snapper and coloured with Twinkling H2O's. The sentiment I did on the computer and the ribbon is by Dovecraft.

TARDIS Card

It was Josh's 10th Birthday on Friday and I decided, as he's Doctor Who mad, that I would make him a TARDIS card. After trawling pictures on the Internet for hours and not being able to find a photo of the TARDIS square on I had an idea. I went and fetched Josh's TARDIS money box down from his bedroom and took a photo of it and used that for the front of the card.

For the inside I printed off a picture of the inside of the TARDIS onto normal paper to make the background then printed off photos of Josh and David Tennant as the Doctor. I love the photo of Josh because it looks like he's looking up at the Doctor. In the original he was looking up at Pluto while we were in Disneyland in Paris. Peej very kindly went round the original and took out all the background so that I could just print it out and cut round it. So it was a real joint effort.I stuck the whole lot onto a tri-fold card and then kept the inside simple with wording done on the Cricut then highlighted with white gel pen. Josh's little face when he saw it! He loved it.

Now I'll let you into a little secret.... I was pretty pleased with it myself too!!! :-)

Card for Will

I made this card for our nephew, Will. He was 8 on Thursday. It was a bit of a quick make because I thought I'd got Will's birthday written on my calender but it turned out I didn't and Peej didn't mention it until the day before so I had to make one that day and get it straight off in the post. Luckily it made it there on time! The papers are from a scrapbook kit. The stamp is by Woodware and coloured with Twinkling H2O's. The Happy Birthday is a sticker and the Will is done with my Quickutz.

Card And Present For Luke

Ellie has a birthday party to go to on Saturday. Her friend Luke will be 5 so I made him this card and tin and I've bought a set of small cars to go in the tin too.

The stamp is by Whipper Snapper, The papers and brads are by Hot Off The Press and the "Luke" and 5 were done on the Cricut using the ZooBalloo cartridge.

For the tin I used papers by Hot Off The Press, the "Luke" was done on the Cricut and welded using the software. The bulldozer stamp is by Woodware and I can't remember who the Jeep one is by.
