Raspberry Ribbons Challenge

This fortnights Raspberry Ribbons Challenge is a really great sketch to work with. I must admit I've never used triangles on a card quite like this before.I did swap the bottom triangles for diamonds which I made using the Jasmine cartridge in my Cricut. The stamp is a Sugar Nellie stamp from the Maggie and Hamish range.
If you'd like to join in with challenge you can find all the details here.

Hope to see you there!

New Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge

This is the new sketch challenge over on Raspberry Ribbons. And this is my card for it.
I adore this stamp. I've loved it for ages but not bought it as I have so many little girl stamps. However it got the better of me at the last craft fair I went to and I had to give in and buy it.
This card is another invitation for my daughter's party so I still need to add the fairy wings.

Stamp: Sarah Kay by Stampavie
Coloured With: Twinkling H2Os
Papers: D.V.W.C.
Equipment: Cuttlebug ~ Nestabilities
Embellishments: Prima Flowers ~ Adhesive Gems ~ Ribbon

Please go and check out the other DT members cards (here) as there are some beautiful examples and if you like you could even join in and play along! :-)

Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge

What a weekend! I went to the Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza in Harrogate yesterday with my would-be step-cousin, Richard. I normally go with my Mum but she was on babysitting duty for the weekend and couldn't make it.

We had a great time although we did get soaked through getting to the main entrance from the car. If we'd arrived ten minutes earlier we would have been ok, but it wasn't meant to be and a darn good soaking we got!

I was specifically looking for some stamps to use on men's cards and I did manage to get a rather nice bear and a fisherman's hat stamp that I think Peej may approve off but he'd need to see it made up as a card rather than just the stamp if you know what I mean?! I also found a Penny Black mouse stamp where the mice are making a prank phone call to the cat which made me laugh out loud and I thought it would be good for the men! But I have to say it was slim pickings on the male stamp front. There are hundreds of stamps for ladies cards but there is definitely a gap in the market for the men. There is more choice if you like decoupage but I don't like all the fiddly cutting out you have to do first. I like the finished image I just don't like all the preparation!

I also found out at the craft fair that Twinkling H2Os have gone into liquidation. I'm mortified. I love my Twinklies. So I would say if there are any colours you are missing from your collection try and get them now because once the stockists sell out, that's it, there is no more! Sob sob!

OK enough of the craft fair! Here is my DT card for this fortnights Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge. If you like to join in you can find all the details here. Stamp: Sugar Nellie
Coloured With: Twinkling H2Os
Papers: Bazzill Bling ~ Free papers from craft magazine
Equipment: Cuttlebug ~ Nestabilities
Embellishments: Buttons

Happy Birthday to Me!

It's my birthday today. Another year older and wiser?! Hmm not sure about the latter. Lol.

Of all the mornings to have a lie in, my kids chose this morning which would have been lovely if I had not woken up at 6.30am and then spent two hours awake waiting for the kids to get up so that I could open my presents.

Peej and I ended up having the funniest game of eye spy I've ever played with some really obscure objects being picked, like C.I.C. being "crack in ceiling" and P.C.C.I.C which was "paint covering crack in ceiling." Then of course there was B.L.T.D.W which was "bedside lights that don't work!" (There is a long story about the bedside lights not working but I won't go into that now. Lol) The fact that we were actually managing to get the answers to these either shows that we are on the same wave length or we're both just as mad as each other? I'm not sure which it is, but it was very funny, well it was to us anyway and it filled in the time until the kids eventually made it out of bed at 8.30am.

I got some great presents and some beautiful handmade cards which I will take photos of tomorrow and post them up for you to see. In the mean time I will share these two cards which I made with free downloads from Papercraft Junkies. This card is made with a Christmas tree download from PCJ's, papers and ribbon by Dovecraft. The cat and mouse stamp is by Sugar Nellie. The card I also did for the Raspberry Ribbons challenge but I was a little late sending it in so I'm not sure if it has made it onto their blog yet or not.

This image is by Debbie Moore and is a free download on PCJ's, I coloured it with Twinkling H2O's and added some Sprinkles to the snow and snowflakes. The patterned paper is some for the Cricut and the Merry Christmas is by Lili of the Valley.

Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge

This is the card I made for this fortnights Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge which you can find the details of HERE if you'd like to join in?! I actually wanted to add a bow with a snowman charm hanging off it in the top right hand corner but unfortunately I have put the charm in a "safe place" and now I can't find it anywhere!

The stamp is a Penny Black (as if you didn't know!) the papers are from the new Forever Friends range and the snowflakes were done with a punch and have pale blue gems in the centre to add a little sparkle.

Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge

Yes it's that time again. The Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Challenge is here and this is my card for this weeks challenge. The papers are a mixture of freebies and some by Cricut. The embossed dots and circle/scalloped circle were all done using my Cuttlebug. The green "Season Greetings" ribbon I bought at the last craft fair I went to and is wrapped around a piece of scrap white card. The reindeer stamp is by Lili of the Valley, which I decoupaged and raised up on foam pads. I used stickles to add some sparkle to the snow he's stood on.
Hope you'll find the time to join in with us!

Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Three

My mum and I had a fabulous time at the Harrogate Craft Fair yesterday and, yes, I finally am the proud owner of a CUTTLEBUG!!!!!!! and lots of dies for it too! I got a cracking deal on it and I have already had a little play with it this morning. I've made a snowflake and a scalloped circle frame. Too cool!

Anyway back to Raspberry Ribbons! I did two pieces of work for this. I made the card first and then Jayne set a "Back to School" layout challenge on PCJ's so I thought I'd use the Raspberry ribbons sketch for that too. I sent them both to Caroline and said to use which ever she liked best and she's gone with the card so that's ok. If you'd like to join in with the Raspberry Ribbon Challenge or check out the other DT members examples please click here.

The card is made using papers, ribbons and button from Hot Off The Press. The lettering was done on my Cricut using the Tear Drop Cartridge and the stamp is by Judikins.

For the layout I used paper and ribbons by Blonde Moments. Prima Flowers. A Fiskars Threading Water Punch and the wording was done on my Cricut using the ZooBalloo Cartridge.

The Happy Birthday was done on my Cricut.

The flowers are Primas.
The green stars and adhesive pearls are by Papermania.
The ribbon is from a set by Maya Road (I think?)

My Mum's Card For Raspberry Ribbons

I wanted my lovely Mum to have a go at the Raspberry Ribbons challenge but then we realised that she didn't have a blog to put it on. I said if she made a card for it I would put it on my blog for her and link it to the site.

As you can see she made one! With an adorable Sugar Nellie on it. I think she did a fab job on it.

I also need to mention that my PCJ's and blogging friend Dawn has got some very generous blog candy up for grabs at the moment. If you'd like the chance to win it you can find the details here.

Raspberry Ribbons First DT Sketch Card.

Here is my first card I have made as DT member for Raspberry Ribbons. If you would like to join in with Sketch Three please click here for details. The Christmas background stamp was one I got sent as a RAK.
The snowman stamp is by Whipper Snapper
The papers are by Dovecraft
The ribbon is some I got in a RAK
The pink bling gems on the ribbon are by Papermania.

Raspberry Ribbons DT Call

Do you remember that I did a sketch challenge to try to earn a place on the Raspberry Ribbon Design Team? Well... on Tuesday morning at 5am the alarm went off on my phone to tell me it was time to get up to get ready to go to Disneyland in Paris and as I do every morning when I wake up I turned my phone on and checked my emails. There, in amongst all the spam, was a lovely email from Caroline at Raspberry Ribbons asking me if I would like to be on their Design Team. Of course I couldn't wait until we got back so I emailed back there and then, at 5am, to accept. That made getting up at 5am all the more worth it I can tell you. How fab is that!

This is a card I made a while ago but I just wanted to put something up with this post! Lol!

So have a new sketch to work on ready for the next Raspberry Ribbon challenge. I can't wait to get stuck in but right now I need to go unpack those pesky suitcases...
