Father's Day

Talk about keeping it simple!

The stamp is by Hero Arts. I coloured the hearts using Twinking H20s
I love the simplicity of it though. It's just a shame it doesn't qualify for this weeks Less is More Challenge.

Dad's Birthday

It's my dad's birthday soon but he's on holiday for it so in true Fe-Fe style I left it until the last minute to make his card. I thought I'd use the Less is More Challenge to make his card which this week is Monochrome.

The car, sentiment stamp and the layering are all in brown even though on the photo the layering looks black! The car stamp is by Funstamps and the sentiment stamp is by Do Crafts

Another Man U Card

My friend that asked me if I would make a Manchester United card for her sister-in-law to give her son Jack was so impressed with the card I made she asked if I would make one for her husband from the kids. She wanted it exactly the same but you know me I don't like making the same card twice so it is slightly different but not by much. The stamps are all from a set by Onefourzero, the wording is all done with Go Kreate Dies in the Cuttlebug.
The stamp inside the card is by Papermania.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

I was making this card for my brother and I had already picked out the image I wanted to use but I thought as it was a Penny Black I'd just check out the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog to see if I could make it to fit in with their challenge.

Their challenge this week is "Check it out" they want to see checks on your project. So I looked through my boys/men papers and found this great checked paper by K&Co to use. It's not the most inspiring card I've ever made but I'm trying to keep them quite simple at the moment so that I can get more done just in case the house sells and we have to start packing everything up and I can't get to my craft stuff for a while. It's not my brother's birthday until May 3rd but I don't think he looks at my blog so I'm safe!

Little Mice

I don't seem to make male cards very often so it's quite a novelty when I get to make one. I love these papers by Hot of the Press but they can be a little dark so I've used white lettering and a white gel pen to make little highlights to brighten the card up a bit. The stamp I've used is a Penny Black, I really do love their stamps. I saw this stamp at the Harrogate Papercrafts Extravaganza last year when I was looking for some more male orientated stamps to add to my collection. It really did make me laugh out loud so I just had to get it. The sentiment is a Go Kreate Die cut and the circle was cut using Nestabilites in my Cuttlebug. The ticket corner punch is by Stamping Up.

Quirky Crafts Challenge 20

Hooray! It's the new Quirky Crafts Fortnightly Challenge!!! It's time for challenge 20 already and this fortnight it's Deanne's turn to set the challenge which is "Teddy Bear". You can't go wrong with teddy bears can you? A great challenge.

So I've made two DT cards for this one again. The first one being on a feminine theme where I've used Debbie's teddy bear images from The Crafty Pad Designs and I've used some Cuttlebug embossing borders in my Bug to make the beautiful flower border at the top of the card and the "with love" at the bottom.

For the second card I used a Forever Friends bear and went with a more masculine theme. I used papers by Hot Off The Press which I distressed using brown chalk ink. The Bear is coloured with Twinkling H2Os (of course, you know me so well!)

So if you would like to join in with our Teddy Bear challenge over on Quirky Crafts you can find more details here.
Hope to see you there!

Quirky Crafts Challenge 16

I'm a bit late putting this on here. It was supposed to go on last weekend! Whoops.

The challenge this week has been set my Julia and is to make a project with a "Masculine Theme"

I made two cards for the challenge. The first one is for a birthday I have coming up next month. I've used a Penny Black Stamp and papers by Hot Off the Press.

The second card I made for my Uncle Don whose birthday was on Wednesday. The papers again are by Hot Of The Press. The bear stamp is by Judith at Stamp Addicts. The rod is a die cut by Go Kreate which I shortened slightly to fit better on the car and I hung a little silver fish charm on the end of the line.

If you'd like to join in with this weeks challenge you can find more details, including what the prize is, here.

Hope to see you there!

Quirky Crafts Challenge 13

The Quirky Crafts Challenge is back!!!! This week it's my challenge! How fab is that? So I know you are all going to rush over and join us this week aren't you?!

My Challenge is "Out and About" so there is lots of room for interpretation and I'm sure everyone has got something in their stash that would cover this one. If you would like to join us for the challenge you can find all the details (including a photo of the prize) here.

I thought I would use my new Fishing Bear Die cut for this one. I've had these Fishing papers by Dovecraft for a while now and the bear (who also doubles up as Fairy Bear). The fishing hat, rod, and fish are all part of the new die cut set my mum bought me at the Harrogate craft show a couple of weeks back. I attached the fish to a bit of cotton thread so that he dangles down from the rod.
Papers: Dovecraft
Equipment: Cuttlebug ~ Boo Bear, Fishing Bear and "Happy Birthday" Go Kreate Dies

Quirky Crafts Challenge 11

This week it's Deanne's turn to set the Quirky Crafts Challenge and (bless her little cottons) she came up with a real challenge, which I have to admit did have me stumped for a while, but I got there in the end.

Deanne's challenge is "Board Game" I printed the Scrabble board from Google images and then used my Nestabilites to make the little squares. I then used little peel off letters to spell out the words. It's looked a little bare though with just the letters so I added a little bear to make it a bit more interesting!

If you'd like to join us for this weeks challenge, you can find all the details you need here.

Cards For Dad

It's my Dad's Birthday on Saturday but he's on holiday for it so I had to get his cards in the post at the beginning of this week so that he'd get them before he goes. Unfortunately I ran out of time for the kids to make him cards of their own so I had to make one for them to give him. I even had to take it to school to that they could sign it when they came out then we put it straight in the post box on the way home!!

I used a Penny Black image which I coloured with Twinkling H2Os and papers by Hot Off The Press.
I used my new plane stamp for my Dad's card from me and Peej. The papers are Hot Off The Press again and the Happy Birthday was done with my Cuttlebug using a Go Kreate Die. I really hope he got them in time to take away with him.

Father's Day Card

With Father's Day coming up fast and my Dad going to be on holiday for it, I thought I'd better get my act together and make a card and get it off in the post to him so that he will get it before he goes and can take it with him.

I also thought I'd make it my mission to use up some paper scraps that I've had building up for a while. The only problem with that is, I can't remember what make they are. Sorry! I think they may be Daisy Bucket Designs but I'm not certain.

The Bear stamp is from Stamp Addicts and is by Judith. I've added some Gunmetal adhesive pearls to the corners to add a bit of detail. The lettering is by Life's Journey.
I used more paper scraps on the inside and some Peel Off Stickers. I also stamped out the bear again but this time coloured him in with Twinkling H2Os.
It is now in the post and on it's way to my Dad's house. Finger's crossed it gets there before he sets off on his holidays!

One For the Boys...

Or rather two for the men but that didn't sound quite as good.

I made this card with Peej's brother Tim in mind. However I needed to make another card for a blogging friend's husband (will explain more about that in a minute) and when I'd finished both I gave Peej the option of which one he'd like for Tim. Peej couldn't decide and asked Josh what he thought. Josh being Josh, and a typical boy, loves anything with an engine and so he chose the plane card for Tim. So this first card has gone to Dean (a.k.a. blogging friend's husband). Now to explain... I was doing some blog hopping the other day when I came across this post here. Clare's husband is feeling quite down at the moment and Clare was asking for crafty blogging buddies to make cards for Dean for his birthday on Saturday to help cheer him up. Well how could I say no?!

This is the inside of Dean's card.

This one is now Tim's card as chosen by JJ. I made this for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is stripes but I've just realised that both cards have stripes and qualify for the challenge. I can't take total credit for the design of the card below. I saw a card with the small triangles arranged like this on it and thought it looked really effective, so I pinched the idea. However I can't remember where I saw it so I can't give a link to the original card. If I find it again I will add it. This is the inside. The plane stamp and the "Happy Birthday" stamp inside both cards are both new ones that I've bought to boost my lack of male orientated stamps. I think they look OK. Hopefully they get the Peej stamp of approval!

Charisma Cardz Challenge

This weeks Charisma Cardz Challenge is a sketch challenge. I thought I'd use the sketch the make a Birthday card for our friend Tommy.
Unfortunately my Hubby doesn't like it. He doesn't think Forever Friends bears are appropriate for 31 year old men. Well I do keep trying to find a really good stamp to use for men's cards but I haven't managed to find one yet.
All I can do is apologize Tommy if you don't like it either and promise I will try harder next year!! :-)

Birthday Card For Fin

I don't know about you but I really struggle with cards for men. This is one I've made for a friend of ours. It just looks a bit bare. If it was a card for a female I could add some flowers to fill the gaps but what do you add to a man's card when its lacking that extra little something? Papers and Brad: Hot off the Press (I think?!)
Stamps: Crafty Individuals ~ Stamping Up
Inks: Distress ink ~ Versa Magic

Pinched Idea

I saw a card in the November issue of Craft Stamper that was done on black card with a silver scalloped circle and a circle of written paper in the middle and it looked really effective. On the one in the magazine they had a little stamped house on the bottom right hand corner and also the card was cut away on the right side with a scalloped edge and doodled on in silver pen. I really liked the way it looked so I thought I'd make my own version using my owl stamp instead of the house. Also because I used a DL card I couldn't do the cut away edge but I think that makes it more mine if you know what I mean?I made the scalloped and plain circles with my nestibilites in my Cuttlebug, I can't remember who the owl is by but it's stamped onto the same paper as the Happy Birthday stamp and then coloured with Distress Inks. I just love that little owl stamp. I couldn't resist him when I saw him. I thought this would make a good card for a man - they are so difficult to make for aren't they?!

This is the card in the Craft Stamper magazine that I pinched the idea from.

Raspberry Ribbons Sketch Three

My mum and I had a fabulous time at the Harrogate Craft Fair yesterday and, yes, I finally am the proud owner of a CUTTLEBUG!!!!!!! and lots of dies for it too! I got a cracking deal on it and I have already had a little play with it this morning. I've made a snowflake and a scalloped circle frame. Too cool!

Anyway back to Raspberry Ribbons! I did two pieces of work for this. I made the card first and then Jayne set a "Back to School" layout challenge on PCJ's so I thought I'd use the Raspberry ribbons sketch for that too. I sent them both to Caroline and said to use which ever she liked best and she's gone with the card so that's ok. If you'd like to join in with the Raspberry Ribbon Challenge or check out the other DT members examples please click here.

The card is made using papers, ribbons and button from Hot Off The Press. The lettering was done on my Cricut using the Tear Drop Cartridge and the stamp is by Judikins.

For the layout I used paper and ribbons by Blonde Moments. Prima Flowers. A Fiskars Threading Water Punch and the wording was done on my Cricut using the ZooBalloo Cartridge.

Happy Birthday Peej!

It's my lovely hubby's birthday today. We were supposed to be going to Blackpool for a couple of days but poor Peej has been ill for the past week and so we had to cancel.

This is the card I made for him from me. Peej doesn't like fussy cards so I tried to keep it simple.

This card I made for Peej from Josh. Peej loves chocolate cake so I knew I wanted to use this sentiment and stamp. I took the colour of the sentiment as the basis for the colour scheme. Peej said he thought it looked a bit girlie to be from Josh. Oh well, I like it!

This is the card I made for Ellie to give her Daddy. This stamp reminds me of Ellie because she has bunny slippers just like these and she has a teddy bear called Teddy that goes to bed with her too.

Di Hickman's Sketch Challenge

I thought I'd have a go at Di Hickman's challenge again this week. I've lost my motivation at the moment and thought this might spur me back into action. I thought I'd use the sketch to do a Thank you card for my son's teacher for when they finish next month. This is Di's sketch......and this is what I did with it!

The papers are by Dovecraft. The Thank you and Mr Shaw were done using my Quickutz.

Father's Day Card

I just realised that I haven't posted the Father's Day card I made for my Dad. Some of you may have seen it already as it was featured in the Papercraft Junkies eMag. For those of you who haven't, here it is. The papers and sticky ribbon are by Dovecraft. The girl stamp is of course a Sugar Nellie coloured with Twinkling H2O's. The "Happy Dad's Day" is a rub on.

The children each made their own cards for Peej, which reminds me, I need to take photos and put those on here too. I am so unorganised these days!

Card for Tommy

I can now post the card I made last week using one of my new rub ons as Tommy should have received his card now. It was a little late - sorry Tommy! The papers and sticky ribbon are by Dovecraft.
The stamp is by Penny Black and coloured with Twinkling H2O's.
and the rub on is by Top Line Creations.
