Best Laid Plans

I had a grand plan today... I was going to take the children to school. Come home and paint over all the finger prints and smudge marks on the wall. Then treat myself to a day of crafting.

I did the painting bit and was very pleased with myself so I made myself a cup of tea and got stuck into sorting out my craft space. In the process of sorting I found a big box full of cards that despite my best efforts, haven't sold. I'd put them away in the box with the intention of doing something different with them but have never got round to it.

I decided today was going to be re-vamp day and I was starting with the teddy bear card. I even remembered to take a "before" photo which I thought was good for me!

So it started as a cream card blank with a teddy bear picture mounted on handmade brown paper on it with a rather crooked "Congratulations" peel off stuck underneath it.

I started re-vamping it and then I decided to ink the letters I'd cut with my Quickutz with brown ink, but then I had to leave them to dry before I could mount them onto the card.
While the ink dried I thought I'd sort out the children's playroom/conservatory. Now I really wish that I'd taken a "before" picture of this before I started because this then turned into my project of the day. It still looks quite cluttered but believe me, if you had seen it before hand, this is a major transformation! I finished doing the playroom at 2.30pm which gave me just over half an hour to tackle this...
Which of course had been my original plan for my day! I didn't manage to finish altering the big tube on the table, I didn't get to make any new cards or do some more work on my hubbies scrapbook which was his in completed Father's day present (hang my head in shame that it's still not finished, may be able to give it to him again as a Christmas present as this rate!!) and I didn't manage to re-vamp the huge pile of cards, they're all back in the box ready for another day but I did manage to finish the teddy bear card which now looks like this...

So I guess it wasn't such a bad day after all!

Wow love, almost didn't recognise the conservatory/playroom :-) You've done a good job there - its a bit like the before and after of my craft space which took me hours to clear up and tidy up!!!

Love the revamped card, certainly a vast improvement. Just proves how much your skills and techniques have blossomed :-)

hi fe fe I came across your blog thru checking others in cheshire and decided to look at yours because we share a hobby (I too make cards) and to my surprise found we have something else in common too.

I have a special son too, my Greg has down's syndrome and is the biggest blessing I could ever have hoped for.

Your art work is lovely and I notice that you too use a cricut machine. Are you a member of the cricut message board? If not I fully recommend it as a place for great inspiration and support.

hope you dont mind me adding a link to your blog on mine.

Great job on re-vamping your teddy bear card Fe-Fe - well done. It's always worth hanging onto cards you are not sure about, then when the time is right you can sort it.

Great job on redoing the card. I like it!

You asked about the inverted corners on one of my cards. I create those using the ticket corner punch tool from Stampin' Up. I'm sure you could create them another way, but I'm not sure how! Thanks for visiting my blog!
